The journal covers fundamental research performed in South Russia in areas of priority as defined by Russian Academy of Sciences.

The journal includes the following departments:

· Physics and informational technology;

It also publishes reviews, critique, personalia, information on scientific conferences, symposia and congresses, as well as official information.
